Radar and AIS

Ais is very common today and is also quite inexpensive compared to radar. However, there is of course no substitute for a real radar.
An enormous advantage of today's systems is that they can be displayed on the plotter as a layer, which means that even difficult navigation at night or in fog is a great safety advantage.
